When Saying No Feels Harder Than Saying Yes.

You know you don’t have the time. You know you don’t really want to do it. And yet, somehow, the word “yes” comes out before you’ve even had a chance to think.
Maybe you’re afraid of disappointing someone. Maybe you worry they’ll be upset, think you’re selfish or stop liking you. Or perhaps saying no leaves you sitting with so much guilt that saying yes feels easier.
But constantly putting other people’s needs before your own can leave you feeling overwhelmed, resentful, emotionally exhausted and disconnected from what you actually want.
Why You Can’t Say No is a practical, psychology-informed workshop that explores why boundaries can feel so uncomfortable, where people-pleasing patterns come from and how you can begin saying no while still being a caring person.
Because setting a boundary isn’t the same as not caring.

Is this workshop for you?

This workshop may be helpful if you…

✓ Feel guilty whenever you prioritise yourself.
✓ Worry about disappointing people.
✓ Find yourself apologising for having needs.
✓ Take responsibility for other people’s feelings.
✓ Avoid saying no because you’re afraid of conflict.
✓ Keep overcommitting and then feel emotionally drained.
✓ Struggle to know where your responsibility ends and someone else’s begins.

Why this workshop is different?

Saying No Doesn’t Have to Mean Becoming a Different Person.

This workshop is…
Psychology-informed and evidence-based
Understand the patterns behind people-pleasing instead of simply being told to “be more assertive.”
Interactive rather than lecture-based
You’ll reflect, practice and apply the ideas during the session.
Practical and everyday
We’ll work with situations you might actually encounter in relationships, friendships, family and work.
Compassionate rather than judgemental
People-pleasing often develops for a reason. We’ll approach these patterns with curiosity rather than shame.
About boundaries not becoming selfish
The goal isn’t to stop caring about other people. It’s to learn how to care for yourself too.
