When Love Doesn’t Always Feel Safe
You like them.
Maybe you really, really like them.
And somehow, that makes everything feel more complicated.
A delayed reply can make you wonder if something has changed.
A different tone can make you replay the conversation.
A cancelled plan can feel like rejection.
A little distance can suddenly feel like the beginning of the end.
You might find yourself asking:
“Do they still like me?”
“Why haven’t they replied?”
“Are they losing interest?”
“Did I do something wrong?”
“Why am I the one who always cares more?”
Sometimes you know you’re overthinking.
But knowing that doesn’t necessarily make the thoughts stop.
Anxious in Love is a psychology-informed workshop about understanding what happens when romantic relationships activate uncertainty, insecurity, fear or a strong need for reassurance.
We’ll explore attachment, emotional needs, relationship anxiety, reassurance-seeking and the patterns that can develop when you’re trying to feel certain about something that inherently contains uncertainty.
This isn’t about becoming less caring.
It’s not about “being less needy.”
And it’s not about convincing yourself that you shouldn’t need anyone.
It’s about understanding your anxiety without letting it run your relationship.
Is this workshop for you?

The Reassurance-Seeking Cycle
- Understand how checking, asking, analysing or seeking reassurance may temporarily reduce anxiety while sometimes keeping the cycle going.
Anxiety, Intuition & Overthinking
- Explore how to pause and differentiate between a genuine relationship concern, an anxious thought and the urge to find certainty.
Building Security Without Losing Yourself
- Learn ways to respond to relationship anxiety while staying connected to your own needs, identity, boundaries and life outside the relationship.
What you’ll take away?

- Explore healthier ways to communicate emotional needs without turning every anxious moment into a relationship test.
Self-Soothing & Regulation Practices
- Take away practical ways to create space between an emotional trigger and an immediate reaction.

Why this workshop is different?
Because “You’re Just Overthinking” Doesn’t Explain Much.
This workshop is…
Not About Calling Yourself “Needy”
Wanting closeness, reassurance and emotional security are human needs. We explore when anxiety begins influencing how those needs are expressed.
Not About Blaming Your Partner
Relationship anxiety can exist even in caring relationships. We focus on understanding your internal experience without automatically making your partner responsible for it.
Not About Becoming Emotionally Independent
The goal isn’t to stop needing people. It’s to build a relationship with yourself that exists alongside your relationship with someone else.
Beyond “Just Trust Them”
Trust is important, but telling yourself to simply trust someone doesn’t explain why uncertainty can feel so difficult in the first place.
Psychology-Informed
We’ll explore attachment, anxiety, reassurance-seeking, emotional regulation, relationship patterns and communication through a counselling psychology lens.
Focused on Understanding, Not Labelling
Attachment concepts can offer useful language for understanding patterns, but they aren’t personality labels or fixed identities.
Compassionate, Not Prescriptive
You don’t have to leave the workshop with a diagnosis, relationship decision or perfect answer. The goal is greater awareness and choice.
